INTRODUCTION

The function of the Stand Up Science Website is to introduce the Stand Up Science book. An added bonus is to build on the Book's content by providing additional ideas and information.

I am pulling from my teaching experiences in public schools; science camps; elementary, volunteer science educator programs; Science on the Go science events; community public demos; and seven years as a home schooling, science specialist. And I thank my husband, Lyle, and other exceptional science educators who shared these with me.

An image or address pertaining to the lesson used in the Website found on Google or YouTube are given credit. The procedure along with additions are my creation based on past experience.

My goal is to continue adding active learning ideas roughly EACH week. You are encouraged to keep checking! This is a new website which will eventually contain well over a hundred field-tested ideas.

There is NO cost to use this site. There is NO requirement to create a password to access the website contents. And you can share with your administrator that another educator field tested the idea for quite some time and was successful!

Through the Book and website, the intent is to help you stand up before your classroom with more confidence and enjoyment when teaching science.
